15 pin VGA connection quality?

I am considering buying a 15 pin male to male lead to connect my laptop to my television. I will be using it to watch HD movies and games so i wanted to know what kind of quality it will provide. If it does not provide HD quality please leave a suggestion how i can get a HD connection. Thank You
