What education you need, to be a building inspector ?

I want to get into building inspections. May be open my own company. I would love to be a big city building inspector ! I got a book about building inspections. I absorb the material Pretty good. I looked into going to school for construction management, WOWW way way to much math (College algebra, Tech math 1, Tech math 2, Pre-calculus, Calculus, Analytic Geometry). That's just for starters for the associates degree. I don't want to be a engineer. I struggled through high school algebra got through it but was Very verry hard for me had to get a tutor and work slow, but I made it. I looked into Business Administration but every body and his brother seems to have a Business Administration degree (College Algebra and beginning survey of Calculus) is all I have to have and that's is a 4 year bachelor degree. Can I get into home inspections with a bachelors of Business degree ? I am good at basic math Statistics and Economics. but applied geometry and Calculus forget it. I am just not wired that way. So how do I Get into home inspections. what rout do I take ?
