PS3 display help! "You cannot play this game at the current video output setting. (80028f10)?

I just bought i PS3 game and when i went to play it is came back saying "You cannot play this game at the current video output setting. (80028f10). I dont understand all this PAL and NTSC when i went to look it up. I have a standard television and a HD TV with a HDMI cord. would plugging my PS3 in HD TV make it work? is there no way to play it on my standard tv?
